In Pictures: water canon and police violence against students in Delhi demanding justice for #RohitVemula

The criteria for being a minister in Modi’s cabinet seems to be two-fold: writing letters for scamsters and criminals on ‘humanitarian grounds’, and writing letters to university to override its proctorial board and punish Dalit students for being ‘anti-national’!

Students protesting against the Modi government’s ministers Smriti Irani and Bandaru Dattatreya for brazenly pushing Rohith Velmula for suicide have been beaten up and thrashed by the Delhi Police. Hundreds have been detained at the Parliament Street and Mandir Marg police stations after being badly drenched by water canon.

As we share this update, hundreds of student are still inside the police station at 6.30pm. More protesters gathering in front of the Police Station at the parliament street.
