New Delhi: A twelve hour long standing dharna is being organized by Delhi University Teachers Union (DUTA) on 4th January (Saturday) at the Arts Faculty Gate, Delhi University (DU) from 12 noon to 12 Midnight to protest: 1. The removal of chairs and other facilities for the security guards 2. The removal of the tea shop of Panditji and demands of exorbitant sums of money from him. 3. The termination of the services of the Security Officer of South Campus after eleven years of service without assigning any reason, and the simultaneous termination of the services of his wife from the Library after four years of service. A Press Conference on the issue will be held at 2pm at the site of the dharna. Some cultural programmes will also be held during the dharna, including a street play by Jana Natya Manch at 12:25 pm and songs by Parcham at 8:30 pm.
